The Covid restrictions haven’t stopped the County Kildare Orchestra doing what it likes to do best – play music. During the last year and a half, the orchestra has made several remote recordings and they would like to present some to you for Culture Night 2021. Technology has allowed over 45 members of the orchestra to record their individual parts across a large range of instruments and to mix them using the best sound engineering techniques.
The orchestra’s mission is to bring great music to local audiences and to give musicians in Kildare and nearby counties opportunities to play challenging and exciting orchestral music. Covid has had a huge impact on people’s social interactions, and putting the remote recordings together has been an important means of keeping members connected as well as maintaining musical skills and ‘keeping the sunny side up’.
